WTF, hockey, and travel

So I was reading the paper online this morning, and what I saw honestly made me want to throw up. I don't understand what frame of mind someone, never mind two people have to be in to assault someone in a wheelchair. I mean obviously any kind of assault is bad and stupid for obvious reasons, but on someone who is in a wheelchair? Wow....what do you say to that? The people who did it were apparently teens, so did they do it because they we're bored? Thought it would be funny? For those that didn't see the article or heard it on TV, the assault was on a Manitoba man who was in Australia to see his girlfriend. Now I obviously have no idea how Australia deals with offending minors but hopefully they do a better job than we do here in Canada. If you didn't see the article, here it is: http://www.winnipegsun.com/news/manitoba/2010/03/11/13194986.html

Hockey playoffs are here in about a month. I really like how Vancouver is looking at the moment. As long as they can avoid Chicago, who has owned them they would have to be my pick as a Canadian team to go all the way, but if there was a way they could consistently get their acts together, I'd really like to see Montreal make a good push in the playoffs. I can't say I care all that much about what Calgary and Ottawa are going to do as they are just to weak to do anything meaningful this season IMO.

With no commitments holding or tying me down at the moment, and given this is going to be my last spring/summer of fun, I've been giving some thought to going away somewhere for a week just for a bit of fun. I'm not particularly sure of where to go, or whats out there so if anyone has any ideas that won't cost a ton of money, I'd love to hear some ideas.

Thanks for reading, much love and big hugs.
